Now in its 32nd year, the Law and Literature Weekend Seminar invites participants to explore The Nickel Boys by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Colson Whitehead.
Led by Professor Allison Weiss and W&L faculty, the seminar examines the novel through legal, ethical, and literary lenses. The Nickel Boys follows a young Black boy unjustly sent to a brutal reform school in Jim Crow-era Florida, drawing inspiration from real-life abuses at the Dozier School for Boys.
This program is open to everyone interested in literature — you do not need to be an attorney to attend.
